OLED Prototype Designer | Universal Display Corporation

2008 - 2015

Universal Display Corporation (UDC) is a research and development company located in Princeton, NJ. The majority of its approximately 100 employees are chemists, working to create increasingly more efficient phosphorescent organic light emitting diode (OLED or PHOLED) materials that are used by manufacturers such as Samsung and LG in smartphone displays, TVs, and wearables including the Apple Watch.

Around 2009, as the first consumer products with OLED displays were hitting the market, UDC began looking at the lighting industry and developing materials specifically for it. My role was to design and produce functional prototypes as a means of conceptualizing how OLED technology could be utilized in the lighting industry.
